Below is procedure used to configure an external/remote H.323 Gateway. Up to 1024 external H.323 or SIP Gateways from which the IMG may receive calls can be created. To configure a group of external/remote H.323 gateways, use the Gateway Mask field to validate a range of IP addresses.

  • Right Click on the IMG Name (Physical IMG) and select New Network. From this object, the interfaces on rear of IMG can be configured. In this procedure, the DATA interface which will interface with the VoIP module will be configured. See IMG 1010 - IP Network (Interface) for more information on the IP Network element. If using an older build then see IMG 1010 - Configuring VoIP

  • Right Click on IP Network just created and select New IP address. Select VoIP Module from drop down menu in the Physical Interface field and leave the Logical Interface as Data if using the Data Port on rear of IMG. See IMG 1010 - IP Address for more information on populating this object. If using an older build, see IMG 1010 - Configuring VoIP.

  • Configure IP Bearer Profiles. See IMG 1010 - Configuring IP Bearer Profiles.

  • Right-click External Elements and select New External Gateways

    • Name- Enter a name that describes this particular external/remote H.323 Gateway.

    • Gateway Signaling Protocol- Select H323 from drop down menu

    • Gateway Address Type- This field defaults to 'Gateway IP Address'. The remote H.323 gateway can be identified with IP address only.

    • Gateway IP Address- Click in field and enter IP address of the external/remote H.323 gateway in the 'Enter IP Address' box that appears.

    • Gateway Mask- Click in field and enter an address mask. This can be used to validate a range of IP addresses for multiple GW's.

    • Gateway Remote Port- Default Port is 1720 and cannot be changed.
