IMG 1010 - SS7 Routes - New Routes and Combined Linksets

  • Create an SS7 signaling entry under the Physical IMG object. Right-click on the Physical IMG object and select New Signaling. A Signaling object will get created. Commit the current object.

  • Right-click on the Signaling object created and select New SS7. An SS7 Standalone object will get created. Commit the current object.

  • The Redundancy Configuration Field in this object is defaulted to Standalone.

  • If not configuring redundant SS7 nodes leave the Redundancy Configuration field at Standalone. The Peer Logical Node ID field does not apply in this situation.

  • If you are configuring redundant SS7 nodes set the Redundancy Configuration field to Primary and in the Peer Logical Node ID field select the Secondary SS7 node.   • The Route ID field is automatically populated with the next available number. A drop down menu will allow Route ID's from 0 to 511.

  • The Route Type field is automatically populated with New Route. This field has a drop down menu with other selections for when configuring combined link sets. Use the default if not configuring combined link sets.

  • In the New DPC field, enter the DPC for this network.

    • For ITU, the point codes range from 0-0-0 to 7-255-7.

    • For ANSI, the point codes range from 0-0-0 to 255-255-255.

  • The Existing DPC field is automatically populated with the same value as you entered in the New DPC field unless combined Link Sets are being configured. If combined link sets are being configured then the option of entering a DPC is allowed.

  • In the Priority field, select the priority to assign to the route when there are multiple routes to the same destination (valid range:0-35).

  • Use the Comments field to enter a meaningful name to identify the route.
