IMG 1010 - Clearing Software from IMG

The Clear Software feature will reboot the IMG and clear the software which is loaded on the IMG 1010/1004. This command is normally sent when upgrading IMG system software To clear the configuration of the physical IMG and do a hard reset of the node, follow the steps below.

There are multiple ways to clear the software from one or more IMG's. Below are the different procedures. Select the procedure that works for your application.

Clearing Software on single IMG:

  • Clearing Software is typically done to load a newer version of IMG system software. Verify that you have loaded the newest version of software into the appropriate Folder/SD Card and all links etc have been changed to allow loading the latest software version. Below are a few links which explain the downloading of system software.

  • To clear the software on a specific IMG select that Physical IMG object in ClientView.

  • Right-Click on the Physical IMG and select Clear Software:
     

  • The next screen that will appear will warn that clearing software could have significant effects on the system as shown below in screen capture. By selecting "Yes" to clear software this will reboot the IMG and any calls will be lost. If this is OK then select "Yes" to this warning. Select no if you do NOT want to reboot the IMG. Select "Yes" to this warning if you are OK with rebooting the IMG:

  • Once "Yes" is selected, the IMG will reboot and begin to load the new software. The ICON in ClientView will display a STOP sign indicating the IMG has been rebooted. See Screen Capture below:

  • IMG will reboot and load newest software. The ICON will go back to once software is done loading.

Clearing Software on Multiple IMG's:

  • Clearing Software is typically done to load a newer version of IMG system software. Verify that you have loaded the newest version of software into the appropriate Folder/SD Card and all links etc. have been changed to allow loading the latest software version.   • To clear the software on more than one IMG, this will need to be done under a Logical IMG Group. By following the procedure below, all IMG's within an IMG Logical Group will be rebooted. Select the Logical IMG group, right-click and select 'Reset Logical IMG'. See screen capture below:

  • The next screen that will appear will warn that clearing software could have significant effects on the system as shown below in screen capture. By selecting "Yes" to clear software this will reboot the IMG and any calls will be lost. If this is OK then select "Yes" to this warning. Select no if you do NOT want to reboot the IMG. Select "Yes" to this warning if you are OK with rebooting the IMG:

  • Once "Yes" is selected, all the IMG's in the Logical IMG Group will reboot and begin to load the new software. The ICON in ClientView will display a STOP sign indicating the IMG has been rebooted. See Screen Capture below:

  • IMG's will reboot and load newest software. The ICON's will go back to once software is done loading.

Alternate Method of Rebooting IMG's:

There is an alternate method to rebooting the IMG's than was explained above. Instead of right-clicking and selecting Clear Software or Reset Logical IMG, there are Buttons that do the same thing. See screen captures below displaying the Buttons.
