IMG 1010 - Originating Line Information ISDN-SIP
Overview:
The Originating Line Information parameter conveys information about the originator of a call. Initially, the IMG supported inter-working the ISUP-OLI parameter when passing information from SS7 to SIP and SIP to SS7. F-5117 'Support ISUP-OLI for ISDN-SIP call' adds support when inter-working the ISUP-OLI parameter from ISDN-SIP and SIP-ISDN. When inter-working the ISUP-OLI parameter from ISDN to SIP, the ISUP-OLI parameter is added to the From: Header in the SIP INVITE message. When inter-working the ISUP-OLI parameter from SIP to ISDN, the ISUP-OLI parameter is added to the SETUP message on the ISDN leg. Below explains what is supported and how it is configured.

SIP to ISDN (ISUP-OLI Enabled):
A SIP INVITE message with ISUP-OLI parameters in the From: Header is received. The IMG will inter-work the parameter into the ISDN SETUP message with 'lock shift codeset6' IE followed by the ISUP-OLI parameter. See Call Flow diagram below.
Codeset 6 (0x96) is the portion of the Information Element in the ISDN message that describes the Network Specific Attributes.
ISDN to SIP (ISUP-OLI Enabled):
An ISDN SETUP message which contains 'lock shift codeset6' IE followed by ISUP-OLI information is received. The message is inter-worked and inserted into the From: Header in the SIP INVITE message. See Call Flow diagram below.
SIP to ISDN (ISUP-OLI Disabled):
When ISUP-OLI is set to disabled the IMG will follow its current behavior. See Call Flow diagrams below.
ISDN to SIP (ISUP-OLI Disabled):
When ISUP-OLI is set to disabled the IMG will follow its current behavior. See Call Flow diagrams below.

Configuration:
The OLI parameter is configured in the SGP object and is inserted into a external network element object. Below are instructions on how to configure the OLI parameter. The procedure below explains how to configure the IMG to insert/map the OLI value between ISDN and SIP. Verify the following entities are configured before proceeding:
Configure these initial objects before proceeding to the procedure below.
Create SIP Profile (SGP) and enable OLI
Right click on Profiles object created earlier and select New SIP SGP. A SIP object will appear. Change the ID fro the first field to something other than ID:0. ID:0 is the default SIP profile and the SIP OLI cannot be configured within this default object. See IMG 1010 - SIP Profile - 10.5.3 for more information on configuring this object.
Right click on the SIP SGP object just created and select New SIP from Header Tags. A SIP From Header Tags object will appear. Select 'enable' from the drop down menu. See below.
Create an External Network Element
Create an external gateway through the external network element object. This will be the gateway that the IMG will communicate with. Verify the Gateway that the IMG will communicate with has ISUP-OLI enabled also. Follow instructions below.
Right click on Dialogic IMG EMS and select New External Network Elements. An External Network Elements pane will appear. No configuration is accomplished in this pane. This pane is a placeholder for multiple Network Elements to be created beneath it. See IMG 1010 - External Network Elements object for more information.
Right Click on External Network Elements object created and select New External Gateways. An External Gateways pane will appear. again this pane is a placeholder from multiple External Gateways. No configuration is needed. See IMG 1010 - External Gateways for more information.
Right Click on the External Gateways object and select New External Gateway. A screen like below will appear.
- Enter a name to identify the gateway that IMG will communicate with using ISUP-OLI
- Select SIP under the Gateway Signaling Protocol field- Enter IP Address of the Gateway the IMG will communicate with
- Select the SIP SGP Profile that was created earlier. This profile has the ISUP-OLI configured in it.

At this point the ISUP-OLI is configured on the IMG. The next step will be to set up the routing so that the specific channel groups are configured to route from ISDN to the External Network element configured above.
