The Packet Facility object pane allows a user the ability to configure one or more groups of VoIP channels. These VoIP groups or Packet Facilities will be used to transport either audio and/or video packets between a VoIP channel group and an external VoIP entity. A Packet Facility can be as little as one VoIP channel up to many VoIP channels. Each Packet Facility objects allows a user to configure Name to identify the Packet Facility, a Network Address, and starting port number. Also, within this object, the Packet Facility can be configured as to whether they will be utilized for Packet Audio or Packet Multimedia (audio/video). Refer to the information below.

The Packet Facility object is the child object to the Packet Facilities object. Therefore, the Packet Facilities object must be created before the Packet Facility can be created. Before configuring the Packet Facilities and Packet Facility objects, the IP Network interfaces that the packets will communicate through must first be configured. Once the IP Network and IP Address objects are created, the Packet Facilities and Packet Facility objects can be created. Refer to links below.

Field Descriptions
Name
Either accept the default name displayed in this field or highlight the entry and enter a different name that identifies the Packet Facility group being configured.
Resource Pool
Disabled Media Endpoint and Network Address are bind to the Packet Facility.
Enabled Media Endpoint and Network Address have to be specified for each SIP Channel Group in Node Association.
Media Endpoint
The Media Endpoint is a drop down menu that displays all the IP addresses that were configured under any of the Logical Interface object. These IP addresses are used for passing data such as RTP or Video. Select either Media 0 or Media 1 from the drop down menu.
Media 0 - Media 0 is only displayed in this drop down menu if an IP address configured in the IP Address object under the Logical Interface object has been configured as an IP Address for Media purposes. Selecting Media 0 makes the Packet Facility being configured use the IP address previously configured as a Media 0 IP address.
Media 1 - Media 1 is only displayed in this drop down menu if an IP address configured in the IP Address object under the Logical Interface object has been configured as an IP Address for Media purposes. Selecting Media 1 makes the Packet Facility being configured use the IP address previously configured as a Media 1 IP address.
Network Address
The Network Address field defaults to the IP address given to either the Media 0 or Media 1 resource configured under the IP Address object. When either Media 0 or Media 1 is selected in the Media Endpoint field above, the Network Address field is automatically populated with the IP address of the Media Endpoint selected.
Packet Facility Channel Type
The Packet Facility Channel Type field can display either Packet Audio or Packet Multimedia. The selections in this field are dependent on how the Media Mode field in the IMG 2020 Physical Node - Direct Connect object was configured.
Packet Audio - When Packet Audio is selected, the Packet Facility object being created will be used for processing audio packets only.
Packet Multimedia - When Packet Multimedia is selected, the Packet Facility object being created will be used for processing multimedia packets.
Starting RTP Port
The Starting RTP port field gives the user the ability to configure the VoIP channel that will be the starting channel for the Packet Facility being configured. The Default value in the Starting RTP Port is port 8000 if no other Packet Facility objects have been created. Once the starting port is configured, the Number of Channels field below can be configured. To modify the Starting RTP port, highlight the existing port number and enter a new port number.
Number of Channels
The Number of Channels field gives the user the ability to configure the number of channels that will be configured in the Packet Facility being configured. The Number of Channels field can be as low a one channel. The Number Of Channels entry is configured by highlighting and modifying the entry in the field.
