Requirements

  • Desktop app: Windows 10 or macOS 10.13 (64-bit)

  • Mobile apps: iOS 13, Android 7.0 (Nougat, API level 23)

For administrators: 

For Switchvox On-Premises Administrators

  1. Switchvox version: the current Switchvox version is required, or no earlier than 2 releases behind. In other words, the 3 most recent Switchvox versions are supported. We highly recommend that you keep Switchvox updated to the most current version.

  2. The apps are freely available for use with a Switchvox that holds active Subscriptions. (A user cannot log into an app when Switchvox holds expired Subscriptions.)

  3. For remote users, set up your Access Control Rules to include the remote users’ networks (IP address and netmask) and allow Web User Portal traffic (You won’t need to allow any other services). If you don’t know each of your remote users’ network details, you can allow Web User Portal for the All Networks rule.

  4. Set Allow NAT Port Forwarding to YES in the Server > Networking > IP Configuration page.

  5. Forward port 443 back to your PBX. http://www.portforward.com is a good resource for documentation on how to forward ports on most routers. Please review Firewall/NAT Checklist.

  6. Audio in the app uses ports 10,000-20,000 UDP, so those ports must be correctly set up as well.

  7. Mobile Chat and certain features for the Desktop Softphone App: Switchvox must have a valid SSL certificate signed by a trusted 3rd party certificate authority. See HTTPS and SSL Certificates. You cannot use the Switchvox managed certificate for the Switchvox Chat app for mobile.
