This guide provides a comprehensive step-by-step instruction for upgrading the firmware on your Vega gateway.

Review current Vega Version

  • Use the web interface of your Vega gateway to confirm the model type and current firmware version. This will help ensure you select the correct firmware for your device.

Download Vega Firmware Release

 

Upgrade Vega Firmware via GUI

  • Extract all contents of the firmware ZIP file package

  • The gateway firmware file will have a .bin extension and it will not have DSP in the filename. For an example “VEGAIMX_R131S010.bin” 

  • Once the firmware file is located go to Expert Config -> System in the webUI

  • Click the Upgrade Firmware button

  • The prompt shown below will ask if you would like to save your Vega’s configuration. Press OK to download the file and it will take you to the firmware upgrade page

  • At the firmware upgrade page browse for your firmware file (.BIN) and press the upload button to start the upgrade

  • Once the upgrade is complete the Vega gateway will display the message below. The unit may reboot more than once.

Upgrade DSP if required

  • After the upgrade check the status page to see if the DSP requires updating. In the screen shot below the DSP status is FAILED, this means the DSP requires updating. In this case please follow the instructions on the DSP Upgrade Page

  • If the DSP status is ACTIVE then you do not have to upgrade the DSP and the firmware update is completed.
