Sangoma Meet v5.8.4 Release Notes
We are excited to announce the release of Sangoma Meet v5.8.4, bringing several improvements, bug fixes, and new features to enhance user experience, stability, and recording functionality.
New Features & Enhancements
1. Unlimited Local Video Recording
Users can now enjoy unlimited local video recording, removing previous restrictions on recording duration.
Enhanced UI for recording controls, improving accessibility and usability.
Improved error handling for out-of-space scenarios during recording.
2. Meeting Summary Storage on CPaaS
Meeting summaries are now stored using the CPaaS Media/Object API, allowing for better retrieval and management of recorded content. This is pre-requisite to enabling AI generated summaries for Sangoma Meeting on Teamhub. AI generated summaries on Teamhub is coming in near future.
3. Improved Recording & Storage Handling
Enhanced the recording functionality to prevent data loss caused by unexpected errors such as browser crashes or system failures. The update ensures that recordings are safely stored and not immediately discarded if an error occurs. If a recording session is interrupted, the system now attempts to recover the data, reducing the risk of losing important meeting recordings
4. Audio & Video Device Management Improvements
Microphone & speaker selection improvements:
Users can now switch microphones without encountering errors while recordings.
Fixed an issue where starting a recording unmuted all participants.
Updated default microphone selection to properly detect external Bluetooth devices.
Audio and video device settings are now stored in local storage for better persistence.
Bug Fixes & Stability Improvements
Meeting & UI Fixes
✅ Fixed misaligned text and formatting issues on subtitles/captions.
✅ Resolved issue where personal meetings kept loading indefinitely if viewed multiple times.
✅ Fixed typo in the Local Recording Control page.
✅ Meeting reservation error when a new CY user starts a meeting has been fixed.
✅ Users can now disable "Allow all participants to join" as expected from calendar integration.
✅ Toggle Lobby Room button now remains consistent for personal meetings.
Recording & Audio Issues
🎙️ Fixed an issue where recording muted/unmuted participants unexpectedly.
🎙️ Addressed problems where users couldn’t switch audio input/output devices during a meeting.
🎙️ Bluetooth & external microphones now correctly appear in device selection.
🎙️ Resolved issue where audio devices stopped working if switched outside the meeting.
Mac-Specific Fixes
🍏 Mac users can now correctly select an alternate camera from preferences.
Storage & Notification Fixes
📁 Remaining disk space for recordings now accurately reflects actual system space on Sangoma Meet Desktop application.
Pre-Join & Meeting Link Fixes
🔗 Fixed inconsistent behavior for the "Copy Meeting Link" button between Desktop and Web.
Other Fixes & Improvements
Updated support URL in Meet to direct users to help.sangoma.com.
Updated Android app dependency for Google Play Store compliance.
Moved claim logic to context provider for improved performance.
