Dialogic IMG - Previously stable circuits now have timing slips or framing errors
Table of Contents
Symptom:
Previously stable circuits on the Dialogic IMG1010 Integrated Media Gateway now have slips or framing errors occurring on spans, E1 or T1.
The Facility object in Dialogic ClientView shows the Current Synchronization Mode as Free Running:
Reason for the issue:
The E1 or T1 that was previously stable and being used as the timing source, has been lost - and there is no other timing source configured.
Fix / Solution:
Under the IMG Name object, create the Timing Synchronization Priority List and arrange the top item in the Timing List property to Primary Loop, if the new timing source will use a Bearer span or Signaling span 2 or 3. If the new timing source will be Signaling interface 0 or 1, then the top item should be Primary Reference or Secondary Reference, respectively. If the List object is aleady present, verify that the Timing List property has correct choice as the top item:
This step does not apply if moving from Signaling 0 or Signaling 1. Before assigning an alternate span as the Primary Loop timing source, the existing Primary Loop source must be cleared. Go to the Bearer Spans or Signaling Spans object and under the Timing column, select the interface that displays Primary Loop. Right click on the selected interface and select Clear Timing:
This step does not apply if moving to Signaling 0 or Signaling 1. Highlight the desired span that will be the new Primary Loop source. Right click and select Set Primary on the span on which you would like the IMG to sync it's timing:
Verify from the Facility object that Synchronization Mode has now changed to the top item chosen in Step 1, in this example, Primary Loop:
