Dialogic IMG - How to change VoIP (SIP and RTP) IP addresses on the IMG
Introduction:
This article describes how to change the IP addresses that the Dialogic Integrated Media Gateway (IMG) uses for SIP signalling and/or RTP traffic. This may also require a change to the IP addresses of the External Gateways the IMG is communicating with.
Procedure
There are 2 ways to accomplish this task.
Offline Configuration feature
If you are running IMG software version 10.5.3 SP7 or later, you can use the Offline Configuration feature to modify the IP addresses all in one go, then re-load the modified configuration file. Please note that this requires you to stop the GCEMS services while you are making these changes. Please refer to the following page in the IMG Online Help for instructions:
Please note that each IMG that you have made configuration changes to will restart when you load the modified configuration file.
Making the changes on-the-fly
This procedure does not require you to stop the GCEMS services but will cause downtime for each VoIP module while you change the IP address of that module.
Changing SIP signalling IP address
The actual IP address entries under Physical IMG -> IP Network cannot be changed, but you can add CPU IP addresses here.
In order to change the SIP signalling IP address, the following steps are required:
under Physical IMG -> IP Network add an IP address object
select CPU as the physical interface
as logical interface select the Ethernet port you want to use for SIP signalling
enter IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, ARP setting and VLAN settings as required
commit the new object
go to physical IMG -> Signaling -> SIP Signaling
in the SIP Signaling IP Address drop-down select the new IP address
Please note that this change will take effect immediately, as soon as you commit the change.
You can then remove the IP address object(s) in IP Network that are no longer used (i.e. the previous SIP signalling IP address).
Changing RTP IP address(es)
Changing the RTP address for a VoIP module will cause a few moments of down time. The IP address cannot be changed directly. You have to remove the VoIP module objects and add them again with the new IP address. Use the following procedure to change the RTP address:
under physical IMG -> Facility, delete the VoIP resource object
under physical IMG -> IP Network, delete the VoIP Module IP address object
under physical IMG -> IP Network, add the VoIP Module IP address object using the new IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and VLAN ID
under physical IMG -> Facility, add the VoIP resource object again ("New Bearer - IP")
While you perform the above procedure, any active VoIP calls will be dropped and no new calls can be made over that VoIP module during that time.
If you have 2 VoIP modules installed in the IMG, repeat the above steps for the other VoIP module.
Changing the IP addresses of the External Gateways configured on the IMG
To change the IP addresses of your External Gateways, edit the IP address field in each object directly.
