IMG 1010 - Dual DC Power Supply
Â
Overview:
In software release 10.5.2 the IMG 1010 can now be equipped with a Dual DC Power Supply. Currently two separate power sources can be connected to the same Power Supply Panel so that there is redundancy at the power sources themselves. Once the two power sources are connected into the IMG 1010, they both connect to one single power supply board. Starting in software release 10.5.2 redundancy was also added to the power supply inside the IMG 1010. The IMG 1010 equipped with the Dual DC Power Supply can now have two separate power sources (-48v) connecting to two separate power supplies within the IMG 1010. This gives the IMG 1010 the ability to have redundancy at both the power source (voltage being supplied to the IMG 1010) and the power supply.
Â
Procedure:
Complete the following steps to connect a redundant power source to the chassis
Ensure both circuit breakers on the DC power module are set to OFF (O).
Turn power OFF at both redundant power sources.
Route the RETURN and -48V wires from the first power source to the DC power module plug. Observe polarity. (See Diagram below). Secure the wires in the plug with the screws that are located inside the plug. NOTE: The power module plugs are in a small plastic bag included in your shipment.
Route the RET and -48V wires from the second redundant power source to the DC power module plug. Secure the wires to the plug with the screws that are located inside the plug. NOTE: The power module plugs are in a small plastic bag included in your shipment. (See Diagram Below)
Insert the plug from the first power source into the DC power module top input labeled PWR1. Push connector in until it snaps into place.
Insert the plug from the second redundant power source into the DC power module bottom input labeled PWR2. Push connector in until it snaps into place.
Turn power ON at both power sources.
Press the circuit breaker CB1 on the DC power module to ON (I).
Press the circuit breaker CB2 on the DC power module to ON (I).

Â
Warnings/Cautions:
Failure to turn power OFF at the redundant power source may result in electrical shock.
Verify the wires are pushed into the plug far enough, so that none of the copper is visible.
Polarity must be observed when sliding wires inside the power module plugs. The unit will not operate if the plugs are wired incorrectly. See wiring diagram above.
