Dialogic IMG - IMG 1010 - Configuring SS7 Redundancy with Remote Control of CICs
Overview:
Before configuring SS7 Redundancy, create the two Physical IMG's that will be the Primary and Secondary SS7 Signaling nodes. All Stacks, Links, Link Sets, and Routes are created on the Primary/Active IMG. The information on the Primary IMG is then passed to the secondary IMG. In the event the Primary goes down, the Secondary takes over call processing and all signaling etc are handled by the Secondary IMG which is now considered the active IMG.
Once the Primary and Secondary have been configured then the remote nodes can be configured and CIC's can be created on them. See Below
Configure the Primary/Active IMG. (Server Node)
Decide which Physical IMG will be the Primary SS7 Node and which will be the Secondary SS7 Node. Configure the following on the Primary.
Create the Signaling Entry by right-clicking on the Physical IMG entry and select New Signaling. A signaling object will get created
Create the SS7 signaling entry by right-clicking the Signaling object and select New SS7 Signaling
The SS7 Signaling Pane is created.
In the Redundancy Configuration field select Primary from the drop down menu.
The second IMG created will automatically be populated in the Peer Logical Node ID field. If there are multiple IMG's created under the Logical IMG Group, there will be a drop down menu displaying the ID's of all the IMG's created. Select which IMG ID to set as the Secondary IMG. See IMG 1010 - SS7 Signaling Object for more information on the SS7 Signaling Pane.
Once the redundancy is created, configure the Stacks, LinkSets, Links, and Routes on the Primary SS7 IMG. See IMG 1010 - Configuring SS7 Signaling - 10.5.1 for information on configuring these objects.
Adding Remote SS7 IMGs
Once the SS7 Signaling has been configured, the SS7 cic's can be configured. The CIC's are configured under the channel groups. To configure channel groups, first right click on IMG EMS an select New Routing Configuration. A Routing Configuration Pane will appear.
Right Click on the Routing Configuration object and select New Channel Groups. A Channel Group Pane will appear.
Right Click on Channel Groups and select New Channel Group. Give this channel group a name and select SS7 from the drop down menu of the 'Signaling Type' field. For more information on how to configure the Channel Group see IMG 1010 - Channel Group
Right Click on the Channel Group object and select New ISUP Group. Select from drop down menu in the OPC-DPC field which stack will be controlling the cics on this channel group. See ISUP Group topic for more information on configuring ISUP Group on this Channel Group.
Right Click on ISUP StackId: object and select New Circuits. These are the CICs. From drop down menu in the IMG Name Field select which IMG the cics will be associated with. See screen capture below.
Continue by configuring the Spans and Channels that the CIC's will be configured on. See IMG 1010 - Circuit Group for more information on configuring this pane.
The CIC's have now been configured and are associated with a specific IMG.
Query Remote Node Info (10.3.x)
In Software 10.3.3 remote Node information can be queried by selecting the following:
A pop-up will appear indicating the LNI and IP Address of the remote node.
Query Remote Node Info (10.5.x)
In software 10.5.x if the Logical IMG is selected in the ClientView Tree the SS7 Redundancy will be displayed in the Object Table. See screen capture below
