Connecting AC Power

Redundant, hot-swappable AC power modules are located at the rear of the docking station. AC power modules must be plugged into three-prong grounded outlets. The power up sequence can only start when the tray is fully seated in the docking station. This ensures that the main board does not power up until the system is properly seated.

To connect AC power to the IMG 2020:

  1. Plug the AC Power Cables  into the receptacle on the AC power module.

  2. Insert the other end of the cable into a grounded wall outlet, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), or surge protector.

  3. Press the power switch on the front of the IMG 2020.

  4. If you are connecting a redundant power source, plug a second cable into the redundant AC power module.

  5. Insert the other end of the second cable into a grounded wall outlet, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), or surge protector.

When connecting a redundant power supply, you do not need to turn off power to the primary AC power module.

AC power component

Specification

Input power

Must conform to the following specifications:

100 - 240 V AC, 60 - 50 Hz, 2 A - 1 A

Range: 100 to 132 V AC (115 V AC nominal), 180 - 264 V AC (230 V AC nominal)

The power supply will operate at any frequency between 47 Hz and 63 Hz.

Grounding

AC power cable must be plugged into a grounded outlet.

Caution: Do not use the external grounding lug on the rear of the IMG 2020 to ground the AC system. The grounding lugs are for grounding a IMG 2020 that is powered by DC.

Uninterruptible power supply option

If your site has frequent power interruptions, establish a battery backup system uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to prevent downtime during power failures.

Surge protection

Install a surge protector between the IMG 2020 and the power outlet to protect the system if a high voltage surge occurs on the power line.

Power cable

Ordered separately. Please refer to AC Power Cables

Power module

On the rear of the IMG 2020 are two AC docking stations. The AC power docking station includes a standard three position AC input connector and informational LED. The connector allows the docking station the ability to interface with all variations of AC outlets using the standard power cable and compatible outlet plug

If docking station is plugged into the IMG 2020 but power is not applied, the Green LED will flash and an alarm will sound. Any AC docking stations plugged into the IMG 2020 must have power connected to them.
