Advanced Carrier Number Parameter Translation
Â
Â
The Carrier Identification Number which is located in ISUP messaging identifies different carriers through the Transit Network Selection, the Network Plan Identification, and the Circuit Code. (Circuit code is used only if Network Identification is set to National Network). The IMG 2020 can be configured so the outgoing information such as Network Identification, Network Plan Identification, and Circuit Code parameters can be translated. The settings selected in each of the fields will be included in the Carrier Identification parameter if the Carrier # Translation field in the Translation Table Element object being configured is populated with an outgoing number. See below.Â

Related Topics and Dependencies
Before configuring the Advanced Carrier Number Parameter object, the following parameters in the Translation Element object need to be configured for the Advanced Translation to be applied.
The Type of Operation field in the Translation Element object must be set to Translation.
The String To Match field in the Translation Element object needs to be configured for the parameter to be translated.
The String field below the String to Match field must have the digits to match entered.Â
Once the Carrier # Translation is populated, then all other fields within the Advanced Carrier Number Parameter object can be modified.

Field Descriptions
The following table describes the Advanced Carrier Number Parameter fields:
Network Identification
Identifies a transit or remote network. Information sent in the initial address message (IAM) indicates the transit network requested to use in the call. The Type of Network field translates the incoming transit network to one of the following options:
ID | Translation |
0 | CCITT - Standardized |
2 | National Network |
Network Plan Identification
Associated with the Transit Network Selection and used to identify the transit network. Only used if the Network Identification parameter is set to CCITT Standardized, otherwise this field cannot be modified. Translates the incoming network identification plan parameter to one of the following options:
ID | Translation |
0 | Unknown |
3 | Public Data Network |
6 | Public Land Mobile Network |
Circuit Code
Associated with the Transit Network Selection and used to identify the transit network. Only used if the Network Identification parameter is set to National Network, otherwise this field cannot be modified. Translates the incoming circuit code parameter to one of the following options:
ID | Translation |
00 | Unspecified |
01 | International Call - No Operator Request |
02 | International Call - Operator Request |
03 - 07 | Spare |
08 - 15 | Reserved for Network Specific use |
