Description

When configuring a Dialogic JCT series media board with a T-1 interface to connect to a Cisco Voice Gateway via an FXS board, there are settings needed in the Cisco configuration to make sure the port operates properly.

Configuration

First, configure the FXS voice port for loopstart:

R1#configure terminal

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

R1(config)#voice-port 1/1
R1(config-voiceport)#signal loopstart
R1(config-voiceport)#ring cadence define 50 10
R1(config-voiceport)#shutdown
R1(config-voiceport)#no shutdown
R1(config-voiceport)#impedance 600c

If issues occur with hookflash, try these configuration adjustments

Increase the interdigit timing duration using the following configuration command:

R1(config-voiceport)#timing interdigit 150

Insert a # in the post-hookflash number dial to ensure the call completes.
