End of Life Products and Features - Configuring Traditional SIP Phones with Express for Lync 2.0
Companies who are migrating from a traditional SIP enabled PBX to Microsoft Lync may want to keep their endpoints in order to keep migration costs down. With Express for Lync, you can leverage the on board SBC, in order to be able to use those SIP phones. While this guide gives you the ability to make a receive phone calls on the SIP phone, a lot of the unified communication features within Microsoft Lync will only be available to those users through the Lync client. Only the calling, forwarding and conferencing features are supported. Presence updates will not occur if a call is picked up from the SIP phone.
