FAX Support - When is fax detection required in PRI Channel groups?

Fax detection is required any time you want the Switchvox to process a fax and deliver it to an extension mailbox. The Fax Detection settings are located in the Channel Group settings of the carrier you are using. Go to Setup -> Channel Groups -> Modify your existing channel group -> Show Advanced Group Options -> Fax Detection.

Fax detection Settings:

• Incoming:  Used when incoming fax should be delivered an extension mailbox but no outbound faxing will take place.

• Outgoing:  Used when only outbound faxing will be used.

• Both: Used when both incoming and outgoing faxing will take place.

• None: Used when faxing is either not being used or directed to an FXS device such as an analog fax machine.
