Web Recovery Mode - Aastra phones
Never force a phone into web recovery mode to try and resolve a problem. Only perform these steps if the phone is already in web recovery mode.
Â
Web Recovery Mode allows you to instruct an Aastra phone to re-download basic configuration and firmware files. The phone enters web recovery mode if either of the following conditions occurs:
An incomplete download of the *.st binary file
Moving the phone from a Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) to standard power, or vice versa
Â
When an Aastra phone is in web recovery mode, the power will appear to come on the phone, but the LCDÂ screen will remain completely blank, and you will be unable to use the phone.
Â
If your Aastra phone exhibits these symptoms, please do the following:
Disconnect the Aastra phone from power (or a PoE switch)
Reconnect the power (or the PoE switch cable) and quickly press and hold 1 + #
Hold the keys listed in Step #2 until the phone displays an IPÂ address on the LCDÂ screen
Using a computer on the same subnet as the phone, browse to the IPÂ address displayed on the LCDÂ screen
You should see two fields within this page:
Filename:
TFTP Server IP:
In the Filename field, enter the name of the phone's firmware file. Aastra firmware files are named <Model#>.st. Â
Firmware files are:
9133i.st
9112i.st
480i.st
480i Cordless.st
480i CT.st
51i.st
53i.st
55i.st
57i.st
57iCT.st
In the TFTPÂ Server IP field, enter the IPÂ address of your PBXtra .
Click Download Firmware
The phone make take a few minutes to contact your server, grab firmware, then gather all required configuration files, and finally boot up completely. At this point, you can once again use the phone normally.
