Dropped Calls - Analog Lines

  1. Using a keyboard and monitor connected to your PBXtra , login using username: ip and password: ip

  2. Press option 8 from the menu

  3. The voltage for any and all analog lines should display

  4. While you are running this test, place a phone call using your analog lines

  5. The voltage displayed for an active call should be 8 volts

  6. If the voltage on your lines is much less than 8, you may experience a dropped call

If your offices are located far away from your provider, the strength of the signal on the analog lines may decrease to the point where the call can no longer stay active.  Fonality typically finds that customers in extremely rural areas experience dropped calls due to the distance.  The only option is to contact the carrier to boost the signal strength or potential purchase an analog line repeater which can be very expensive.
