Network Connectivity - Unable to update G100/G200 Gateways

Sangoma G100/G200 Gateways using versions between 2.1.0 and 2.2.2.1-B have an issue that prevent users from upgrading the unit.  The problem is located firmware,  a file necessary to upgrade process is missing. Our Engineering Team has fixed this issue on newer version of the software, but users experiencing the issue will need to use USB Flash drive and factory reset the unit in order to fix this issue with their units.

Steps:

Note: We recommend to use USB flash drive from following brands PNY,  Sandisk and Verbatium

  1. Use a USB Flash drive with at least 2GB formatted with FAT32

  2. Download recovery-g100_g200-1.1.7.zip

  3. Decompress the content of the zip file into the root directory of the USB

Some decompression utilities will create a new directory in which to place extracted files. If your decompression utility functions in that way, be certain to copy the contents from that new directory to the root (i.e. parent) directory of an empty USB flash drive

  1. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB Recovery port. Power on the Gateway Series appliance. The Gateway Series appliance will boot from the USB Recovery port and process the recovery image which was placed on the USB flash drive.

  2. Once done, unplug the USB flash drive and power cycle the unit.

Warning! Do not disconnect power during this process. The recovery process will take at least 3 minutes to complete. The Device Status LED will turn red for a fraction of a second. Then it will turn amber for less than a minute. Next, it will run red for about 2 minutes. Lastly, the Device Status LED will remain off. At this point, it is safe to power off the Gateway Series appliance. Remove the USB flash drive and power cycle the Gateway Series appliance.
