Network Connectivity - What do I do if the gateway shows my local IP in its SIP message header?

If you are unable to complete calls on the gateway and after running an advanced debug notice that the sip message headers report your local IP instead of your public IP you will need to do the following:

  1. Login to your gateway GUI. The hostname by default is set to the last three octets of your MAC address prefixed by your gateways model number which can be found on the back of the gateway.

           For Example: https://g100-xx-xx-xx/

  1. Select the Configuration menu at the top left hand side of the GUI.

  1. Select Global SIP Settings.

  1. Under NAT Settings clear any IP's in the local network list.

  1. Select Save SIP Settings

  1. Run an advanced debug capture and place a test call.

  1. Review the captured logs. Your local IP should no longer be visible in the SIP message header.
