Open Source - Visual voicemail button on Digium phones gives an error when pressed
When pressing the voicemail button on a Digium phone and it returns an error there are several things that need to be checked and that may cause the issue.
Check that the proper access control rules are on in the switchvox access control rules for the network that the phone is on, also make sure the same ports are open/forwarded on the firewall.
Check that visual voicemail is selected in the users extension under phone settings (digium phones). The msgs button action should be open visual voicemail.
Try rebooting the phone.
If there are still issues then the phone will need to be reset to factory default and reconfigured. You can reset to factory default under the phone menu-advanced-reset to factory defaults. If the phone cannot contact the server upon rebooting then select settings and digium configuration server. Enter the IP address of the switchvox server and use port 5060, select go and you should be prompted for the global configuration password. If the phone times out, repeat this step with port 5062.
