Open Source - How to redial from missed calls on Polycom or Digium phones

When dialing out, if your phone provider requires “1” plus ten digits (1xxxxxxxxxx), then pressing redial may fail for ten digit caller IDs. Use the following article to construct an Outgoing Call Rule that automatically prepends “1” to all outgoing ten digit numbers.

  1. Log into Switchvox admin and select Setup -> Call Routing -> Outgoing Calls.

  2. Click the Create Outgoing Call Rule button, and populate the following fields.

    • Rule Name and Note

    • Pattern to Match

      • Number begins with the digits: ‘Leave this blank’

      • The Rest of the number must be between: '10' and '10', digits in length.

      • Before connecting the call, trim: 'leave this blank', digits from the front and then prepend the digits: '1', to the number.

    • Call Through

      • Select the appropriate provider.

    • Rule Final

      • Set “Is this rule final” to YES.

      • Setting “Allow all existing extensions to use this rule” YES adds this new Call Rule to all extensions.

NOTE: For Caller IDs with a leading plus sign (+1xxxxxxxxxx), populate the “Number begins with the digits” field above with ‘+1’.
