BLF Alerts
Types of Visual and Audio Alerts
When a BLF button is monitoring an extension, you can receive additional alerts during inbound calls to that extension. The two types of alerts are:
Visual Notification- Your phone will display a pop-up notification of who is receiving the call.
Audio Notification- Your phone will beep once when the BLF user is receiving a inbound call.
Setting Up Visual and Audio Alerts Per BLF
You can enable a BLF Audio or Visual Alert from within End Point Manager on a per button basis
Go into EndPoint Manager in your PBX and select the Sangoma brand in the menu.
Click on the template in End Point Manager that you want to change a button for.
Click on the Models tab at the top and select a model number you want to add a BLF button for.
For any BLF button you can pick to enable Visual and/or Audio alerts.
Save the Model using the Save Model button.
You now need to update the phone configuration file. The three options at the bottom of the template are:
Save Template- This will only save your changes into the PBX database. It will not write out new config files for the phones that are using this template as mapped in the Extension Mapping section of End Point Manager.
and Rebuild Configs- This will save your changes to the PBX Database and will also write out new config files for the phones that are using this template as mapped in the Extension Mapping section of End Point Manager. The phones will need to be rebooted in order to retrieve the changes.
and Force Update- This will do both the "Save Template" and the "and Rebuild Configs" options above, and it will also immediately update any phones that are mapped to use this template and currently registered to the PBX, with no need to reboot the phones.
Setting Up Visual and Audio Alerts Global
You can globally enable Audio or Visual Alerts in End Point Manger for all BLF buttons in a template. This means any BLF button setup on the template will use the global alerts.
Go into EndPoint Manager in your PBX and select the Sangoma brand in the menu.
Click on the template that you want to change the notification for.
For the BLF Alert option, select either No Alert, Visual, Audio, or Both.

Debugging Alerts not Working
If you audio or visual alerts are not working it usually means Asterisk is not setup to send the CID info.
You will need to add the following line to your Asterisk SIP Settings module in your PBX under chan_sip tab.
At this time PJSIP does not support this feature and only works with chan_sip
