Configure Yealink "T" Series Phones in the Business Voice Platforms
Yealink Phone Series
The following information relates to Yealink "T" Series phones supported by Sangoma, and provides instructions on how to configure Yealink "T" Series phones in the Business Voice platforms.
Yealink Phones at a Glance
Note: Older model phones may no longer be supported by Sangoma.
Phones are available in T2x, T3x and T4x ranges. However, only the T4x range is still available for sale.
All models are PoE.
The headset connection for all models is RJ9.
Dual-port Gigabit Ethernet: T32G, T38G, T42G/T42S, T46G/T46S, T48G/T48S.
Programmable BLF keys via the Business Voice platforms portal: T26P, T28P, T38G, T41P/T41S, T42G/T42S, T46G/T46S, T48G/T48S.
Shared Park Appearances (Key System Mode) - Emulates a squared key system: T26P, T28P, T38G, T41P/T41S, T42G/T42S, T46G/T46S, T48G/T48S and can be configured with shared park appearances.
Expansion Module Models
Note: If more than 2 expansion models are added, a power supply is required.
Model EXP39 works with: SIP-T26P/T28P/T38G.
Model EXP40 works with SIP-T46G/T48G and T46S/T48S
Large graphic LCD backlight.
Dual-color LED buttons.
20 additional keys through page switch.
Daisy-chain up to 6 modules.
Note: Yealink EXP39 Expansion Module has been discontinued by the vendor since December 31, 2015.
Headsets
The EHS feature (Electronic Hook Switch - Wireless Headset EHS36) is supported on the T26P, T28P, T38G, T40G/T40P, T41P/T41S, T42G/T42S, T46G/T46S, T48G/T48S phone models, using the Yealink Wireless Headset Adapter.
Bluetooth available via the BT40 USB Dongle for the T41S, T42S, T46G/T46S, T48G/T48S. (NOT T42G)
Wall-Mountable
Models T20P, T22P and T32G are wall-mountable out of the box.
Models T26P, T28P and T38G are currently not wall-mountable.
Models T40P, T41P, T42G, T46G/T46S, T48G/T48S are wall-mountable. A kit is required.
Complete the following instructions to configure Yealink “T” Series phones in the Business Voice portal for a Business Voice+ locations.
Business Voice+ Locations
Configure For Local Use
For Business Voice+ locations, Yealink phones obtain their configuration automatically from the local StarBox®. Prior to shipping any Yealink phone, Sangoma upgrades the device to the latest, compatible, approved and tested firmware. Each phone is connected to a local StarBox® to download its configuration based upon the Extension’s portal settings.
Notes:
Phone must be in the factory default state. Reset to factory default, if necessary, by holding down the OK button for about 7 seconds.
Automatic configuration download only applies to standard StarBox® installation.
Configure For Remote Use
Follow the steps below to configure a phone for Remote use:
Log in to the Business Voice portal (https://portal.star2star.com).
Select Configuration at the top of the page.
Search and select the location.
Select Edit for the appropriate Extension.
Verity the Remote Extension checkbox is selected.
Enter the physical address of where the phone will reside.
Click Save Changes.
Click Save Changes to System, located at the top of the page. This may take up to 15 minutes for changes to take effect.
After the portal has saved the changes, reboot the phone on the existing network (the current Business Voice+ location).
During reboot, the phone receives the remote configuration file. The phone is now ready for remote use.
Afterward, the phone should have a Data IP address with the same scheme as a computer in the same environment.
Note: Phones not connected to a PoE device require a power supply.
Return to Local Use Configuration
To return the remote extension to its original Local setup, repeat the above steps 1-4, but uncheck the Remote Extension checkbox.
Click Save Changes, located at the bottom of the page.
Click Save Changes to System, located at the top of the page. This may take up to 15 minutes for changes to take effect.
Connect the phone to the local StarBox® Voice Optimized SD-WAN.
Note: Phones not connected to a PoE device require a power supply.
Complete the following instructions to configure Yealink “T” Series phones to the Business Voice platform for Business Voice locations.
Business Voice Locations (T4xS Series Only)
Configure For Local Use
For Business Voice locations, Yealink phones use Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) and obtain their configuration automatically from the Sangoma network.
Note: Phone must be in the factory default state. Reset to factory default, if necessary, by holding down the OK button for about 7 seconds.
Configure For Remote Use (Out-of-Office Use)
Follow the steps below to configure a phone for Remote use:
Log in to the Business Voice portal (https://portal.star2star.com).
Select Configuration at the top of the page.
Search and select the location.
Select Edit for the appropriate Extension.
Verify the Cloud Remote checkbox is selected.
Enter the physical address of where the phone will reside.
Click Save Changes.
Click Save Changes to System, located at the top of the page..
After the portal has saved the changes, reboot the phone.
During reboot, the phone receives the remote configuration file. The phone is now ready for remote use.

Return to Local Use Configuration
