Phones - How to register an Ekiga soft phone

To register an Ekiga soft phone:

1. Open Ekiga and then navigate to the Edit drop down menu and select Accounts.

2. Then in the new Accounts window that pops up select Add SIP Account

3. Then in the Edit account info input the following:

Name = The extension number you are trying to configure
Registrar = IP of the PBX
User = The extension number you are trying to configure
Authentication User = The extension number you are trying to configure

Password = Phone Password  (make sure you are using the Phone Password and not the password the extension uses to check Voicemail and log into their /main portal)

Timeout: 3600

4. Then click OK and your phone should register.

If it does not register, check the error logs for any errors. If you don't see any error message run a packet capture while trying to register the soft phone and see if any traffic from the soft phone is making it to the PBX.
