Phones - Digium phones screen goes white after entering the IP of PBX

Issue description

Phones with 1.x firmware that are manually pointed at a Switchvox 6.x system by using the phone's boot menu to enter the IP or hostname of the server, without also entering the port of the server, and in lieu of selecting the server from the list of discovered servers, will result in a phone app crash.  When this occurs, the phone will display a white screen for several seconds, and it will return to the server selection screen.

This issue has the tendency to appear while configuring remote Digium phones (phones that are unable to discover the system since they are not located on the same network as the PBX), or when attempting to connect older-firmware phones to newer versions of Switchvox.

Steps to resolution

A workaround is available for older 1.x firmware versions. Newer 2.x versions of firmware are not affected by this issue.

Workaround

Please make sure to enter the port, not just the IP address and/or hostname of the server on the manual server entry screen.  Doing this will cause the phone to proceed to configuration normally.
