Phones - How can you fix a phone showing a strange unknown caller ID when calling outbound?

If you are using a Digium Gateway with Switchvox, and you have an issue where an unknown caller ID name and number appears on the phone when making outbound calls, do the following in the Gateway configuration:

  1. Go to Configuration > SIP Endpoints and modify the SIP endpoint

  2. Turn on 'Enable Advanced Options' and go to Call Settings Tab

  3. Set 'Send Remote-Party-ID' to NO

  4. Save and test

NOTE: We suggest making these changes outside of business hours as they will affect active calls.
