Session Border Controller - Writing ISO to a USB Drive

Steps for Windows

  1. Download the SBC ISO file from SBC Downloads for the latest version of the SBC software.

  2. Download Rufus from https://rufus.akeo.ie/ which is an application to create bootable USB drives. 

  3. Open Rufus and then click the SELECT button and then point Rufus to the SBC ISO that has been downloaded. Then ensure your blank USB key is selected as the device; this will erase the entire USB drive. Next verify all the configuration options are as shown in the picture below.

  4. Press START to start writing the ISO to the USB drive. When the prompt below appears leave it at ISO Image mode and press OK.

  5. Rufus will then warn you because it will be removing all data on the USB drive. Press OK to start making the USB key.

  6. Once it finishes copying the USB will be created. You can now put the USB into the SBC and reboot or power up the SBC. For full steps on how to boot the USB see Session Border Controller - Booting SMB-05 from USB
