Business Voice - How to change the outbound CallerID on my phone?

You can change the outbound CallerID for any phone on your system. The CallerID must represent an existing number on any of your locations. Multi line phones can use a different outbound CallerID for each line appearance or set as "Blocked" which displays no CallerID. By default all phones and all lines are set to the location's primary DID / Number which is configured in the Additional Location Information page in the Business Voice portal for the location.

To make changes to your phone access the Business Voice Portal

  • In the menu on the left side:

  • Select Device Configuration.

  • Select Extensions.

  • Select Edit for the extension to be updated on the left side of the page OR Add an Extension.

  • The selected extension’s information will be displayed on the right side of the page.

  • All Outgoing CallerID Lines for the phone are displayed under the phone field.

  • In the example below, a 6 line phone is being used.

  • Line 1 is set to Location: Main Office.

  • Lines 2 through 5 are set to specific DIDs / Numbers.

  • Line 6 is set as blocked.

  • By clicking the dropdown associated with each line you can quickly select any DID / Number from any location on your system, use already created locations or set it as "Blocked".

  • After all updates have been completed click the    Save Changes    button.

  • Click the    Save Changes to System    button after all extensions have been updated.
