Sangoma Meet - V5.6 Release Notes: August 22, 2024 (Desktop and Mobile Version); September 17, 2024 (Web platform)

Introduction

We are excited to announce that Sangoma Meet Version 5.6 is now available on Desktop and Mobile.

Sangoma Meet V5.6 is also available on web platform: Released September 17, 2024.

This release includes the following:

New and Improved features

  • Increased Video Recording Limit to 2 Hours: We have extended the video recording limit to 2 hours. Now, users can record their meetings for up to 2 hours continuously. After reaching the 2-hour mark, users will be prompted to download the recording.

  • Personal Meeting ID Management: Introducing a dedicated section to manage all Personal Meeting IDs. Users can now navigate to the "Personal Meeting ID" tab to create and manage their personal meeting IDs. These IDs can be used for dedicated or recurring meetings.

Bug Fixes

  • Improved delayed response when enabling/disabling “CC”:
Few users reported they are experiencing a delayed response when they enable/disable “CC” while in a meeting. We found the root cause of this and have improved the experience.

  • Chat Copy/paste issue:
We addressed an issue where users would get disconnected from Meet when copying and pasting large text into the chat window..

  • Race condition improvements:
We have optimized Sangoma Meet to reduce race conditions that depend on timing. These improvements address issues that previously caused unpredictable behaviors in the Sangoma Meet UI, such as latency in joining meetings and delays in loading settings.

  • Users getting dropped from Meeting room: The intermittent issue where users reported getting dropped multiple times from a meeting room when they try to join meetings has been fixed.

Known Issues

  • Volume Control Slider Unresponsiveness:
There is a known issue where the volume slider does not initially respond when users try to reduce another user's volume

  • Pop-up Notifications Overlapping with Toolbar:
In the current design, pop-up notifications overlap with the toolbar, preventing users from muting or unmuting themselves until the notifications are dismissed. This issue can be particularly problematic when a large number of participants join the meeting

Additional Information

Notes:
We are currently working on improving the race conditions even more. Apart from improving the services for Meet we will also introduce unlimited recording for the paid users with next release.
