How is a NetGear WNDR3700V2 Router configured for Switchvox Cloud installations?

Login to your NetGear router's administrative interface.

Setting up QoS settings for voice as follows:

  • Click QoS Setup under the Advanced section.

  • Check the box next to Turn Internet Access QoS On.

  • If you know your approximate upstream/upload bandwidth, check the box next to Turn Bandwidth Control On and enter your upstream bandwidth in the box. Select Kbps or Mbps for kilobits per second or megabits per second. If your upstream bandwidth is a single digit number, it’s Mbps. If it’s three or four digits, then it’s Kbps.

  • Click Apply.

  • Click Setup QoS rule button:

  • Scroll down and click Add Priority Rule.

  • For Applications select Add a new application.

  • For QoS Policy for type SIP.

  • For Priority select Highest.

  • For Connection Type select UDP.

  • For Starting Port enter 5060.

  • For Ending Port enter 5061.

  • Click Apply.

  • Click Add Priority Rule and repeat the same steps as above, but use the name RTP, Starting Port 10000, and Ending Port 20000.

  • Click Apply.

  • Click Add Priority Rule and repeat the same steps as above, but use the name RCPhone3, Starting Port 8000, and Ending Port 8200.

  • Click Apply.

  • Scroll down and click Apply.

  • Click Apply.

  • Although the router doesn’t require it, for best results, we recommend you force the router to reboot by unplugging it and plugging it back in.

You should now be ready for high-quality voice calls.
