Support Services - What is Remote Call Forwarding (RCF)?

  • Remote Call Forwarding (RCF), also known as PSTN Forwarding, is a feature that allows you to forward an incoming call to another number of your choosing. Incoming calls can be forwarded to an external number, such as a cell phone or another office location.

  • RCF allows you to receive incoming phone calls in the event your phone service has been disrupted. If your internet service is down, internal network is having issues, power is out, or PBX is not working, RCF allows you to forward your incoming calls to working numbers. This keeps your incoming business calls operational so you don’t miss important phone calls.

  • Digium’s RCF feature allows you to configure any or all of your phone numbers to forward to specific external numbers.

  • RCF is configured and activated via our Cloud Customer Portal.

    • We recommend that you pre-configure your call forwarding numbers as part of your business continuity plan, then activate RCF when the need arises.

    • You can easily activate your RCF feature using any PC, laptop, or mobile device with access to our Cloud Customer Portal at my.digiumcloud.com.

  • For instructions, review our article on how to setup and manage Remote Call Forwarding (RCF).
