Support Services - What to check if you cannot make outbound calls using a Cisco SPA 112

If outbound calls are failing with an analog phone connected to a Cisco SPA 112 device, you may need to disable Block CID.
Not the below setting will cause all outbound calls to fail including extension to extension.

  1. Log into the Cisco SPA 112 web interface

  2. Click on Voice tab

  3. Click on User 1 from the options on the left (If this is the 2nd port you may need to go to User 2)

  4. Go to Supplementary Service Settings and go to Block CID Settings

  5. Use the drop down menu to select No

  6. Click Submit

You can check if this is the issue by running  a packet capture while making an outbound call.

  • Click HERE for steps to run a packet capture in Switchvox.

  • Click HERE for steps to run a packet capture in Asterisk.

Open the capture in Wireshark and filter by the IP of the Cisco SPA 112.  (ex: ip.addr==192.168.0.0)
In the Header Information, it will show the SPA112 is sending as the FROM Header: sip:anonymous@localhost
