Overview

Segments provides the ability to create a distribution list that includes either contacts or 1 or more mailing list.

There are 3 steps to create a segment.

  1. Define the Main Info., which includes the Segment Name, Description, and the contact input source.

  2. Define the Filters. In this step define how to filter the contact source.

  3. Preview the final list of contacts in the Segment, and save the Segment.

Main Info

Enter the Main Info as defined below and Click the NEXT> button.

Segment name: Enter a name for the Segment.

Description: Enter a description of the Segment.

Choose a Source:
Note: The source of contacts can be filtered in step 2.

  • All Contacts: Select this option to include all entries in your Contacts in this Segment.

  • Mailing Lists: Select this option and then select 1 or more Mailing Lists.

Note: If Contacts are added or removed from the source lists at a later time, this may impact this segment.

Filters

Configure the filters as defined below and Click the NEXT> button.

Filters Relation:

  • All: All the define filters must be met to be included in the list.

  • Any: If any of the Defined filter are met the contact will be included in the list.

    • Example: Using the filters below, all contact will be included in the list if the First Name contains an L or the Last name Start with A.

      • First Name Contains L

      • Last Name Start with A

Apply Filters:

To Add a Filter:

  • Click the + FILTER button. Up to 5 filters can be applied.

  • Enter the following information:

    • Contact Info: Select which contact info will be used in this filter.

      • First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, Etc.

    • Rule: Select from the list which rule will be used in this filter.

      • Start With

      • Ends With

      • Contains

      • Equals

      • Not Equal

    • Value: Enter the value that will be used to filter contacts.

  • Click the Save button.

Preview

Review the list of contacts included in this Segment. If any changes are required Click on the Main Info or Filters steps and adjust as required. If all looks good Click the SAVE button.
