Switchvox - How to configure Access Control rules for all SIP phones

For any local SIP phone to properly configure and register to a Switchvox PBX we need to make sure the Access Controls are properly configured. Follow the steps to ensure proper access:

  1. Log into the /Admin interface and go to Server -> Access Controls.

  2. By default, All Networks entry should have all services disabled (best practice) and everything enabled for the Local Network.

  3. If the phone falls under the Local Network subnet, you should be good to go. Just make sure SIP is set to On.

  4. If the phone falls on a different local subnet, you will need to create a new entry for that subnet:

    1. Click Create Access Control Rule

    2. Give it a unique Rule Name

    3. Add the appropriate Network (Network must be a valid IP with CIDR notation; ie 192.168.1.0/32).

    4. I would also recommend set Never Block IPs to Yes

    5. Under Allowed Services make sure to set SIP is set to Yes

      1. You can also allow other Allowed Services if you would like but for any SIP phone all that is required is SIP to be set to Yes
