How to route calls based on area code prefix or certain numbers?

Switchvox lets you route calls to certain extension using Transfer Call feature based on caller id or area code.  Transfer Call lets you transfer certain callers to a specific extension. For example, you could route all calls from a vendor whose phone number is 8005554321 to the extension for your purchasing department.

Note: All phone numbers used in an incoming call rule must be exactly as they appear in your caller ID. This number is usually the full 10-digit number, which includes the area code.

 

To create a new incoming call rule:

  1. Go to Setup →Call Routing →Incoming Calls

  2. Click on CID Rules

  3. Create Call Transfer Rule

  4. Set Call Transfer Settings

    1. Rule Name

    2. Note

    3. Incoming Type 

    4. Incoming Number

    5. Extension to Transfer to

    6. Timeframe

  5. Save Call Transfer Settings
