Switchvox - How to setup and use Personal Intercom Feature Code Extension

A Feature Code extension lets you perform a certain operation by dialing a *, the two-digit feature code, then another extension.

Below are the steps to create and use a Personal Intercom Feature Code Extension:

1. In the Switchvox /admin GUI, go to Setup > Extension Manage > Create Extension and scroll down to Personal Intercom.

2. Choose a 2 digit code to be dialed after the *

3. Leave the Alert Header as Intercom

4. Choose the other settings to fit your needs

5. Create a Personal Intercom Group and add the extensions or groups that can use the feature code and the extensions or groups that the feature code can be used on.

6. Save

How to use the Personal Intercom Feature Code:
The Personal Intercom Feature Code directly dials another extension’s intercom.
For example, if you define *55 as the intercom feature code, and you dial *55202, you will now be talking over the speaker on extension 202’s phone.
