Switchvox - How do I create an IVR to play a greeting then record a sound and send that sound to voicemail?

The first part is to create a sound file 

  1. ​Tools > Media >Sound Manager 

  2. Create Sound - You will want to make sure you put at the end of the recording, "When you are finished recording please press the # key" (If the caller just hangs up, then the next steps in the IVR below will never be followed since the call is disconnected).

  3. Save Sound 

 

Create an IVR 

  1. Tools > PBX Features > IVR Editor 

  2. Create IVR Menu 

  3. Modify Actions

  4. Action Type: Play Sound (choose the sound you just recorded in Sound Manager)

  5. Action Type: Record Sound - Select an arbitrary variable name to this field " Recorded Sound Variable Name: " 

  6. Create IVR Action 

  7. Action Type: Send Recorded Sound to Voicemail - Choose the voicemail box you want the recording sent to.

  8. Create IVR Action 

  9. Action Type: Play Sound "Thank You"

  10. Create IVR Action

  11. Action Type: Hang Up

 

Assign an extension to this IVR 

  1. Setup > Extension > Manage 

  2. Create Extension 

  3. Extension Type : IVR(Interactive Voice Response) 

  4. Click on Create Extension 

  5. Assign to an extension 

  6. Route to IVR Menu (Choose IVR you just created) 

  7. IVR Menu Entry Point ( IVR Menu Beginning)
