Switchvox - How do I create an IVR to play a greeting then record a sound and send that sound to voicemail?
The first part is to create a sound file
Tools > Media >Sound Manager
Create Sound - You will want to make sure you put at the end of the recording, "When you are finished recording please press the # key" (If the caller just hangs up, then the next steps in the IVR below will never be followed since the call is disconnected).
Save Sound
Create an IVR
Tools > PBX Features > IVR Editor
Create IVR Menu
Modify Actions
Action Type: Play Sound (choose the sound you just recorded in Sound Manager)
Action Type: Record Sound - Select an arbitrary variable name to this field " Recorded Sound Variable Name: "
Create IVR Action
Action Type: Send Recorded Sound to Voicemail - Choose the voicemail box you want the recording sent to.
