Switchvox - Why does firedialer cause duplicate call recordings to be created?
When using Firedialer click to dial, and you have incoming and outgoing calls set to record (under Tools > Call Recordings), duplicate recordings are created.
This happens because Firedialer uses the Call Creation API.
Call Creation API, dials one number first, then when that call is answered it dials the second number.
In the case of Firedialer:
Right click a number, on a website for example, that you want to call
The API dials your extension first, then when you answer it places the second call to the number you clicked to dial, and connect the two calls.
This causes Switchvox to record both the first call to your extension and the second call to the external number you want to call.
If you do not want this to happen, you must choose either to record incoming calls OR outgoing calls for anyone using Firedialer.
