Switchvox peering feature Remote Peer Sync Error (Peer_Name): switchvox.sync.peers.link : (12003) Database sql execution failed error

If you run into issues with the new Switchvox peering method of one or multiple peers having peering problems and if you see the below errors in the error log, this indicates that each side of the peer may have the same unique server ID in the database:

Remote Peer Sync Error (Name of Peer will be found here): switchvox.sync.peers.link : (12003) Database sql execution failed

Each PBX should have their own unique server ID. If they don't, you:

  • You may restored the same backup file on multiple PBX's but during the restore process you left option 'Overwrite Server UUID' enabled (Yes) on each PBX,

  • This will restore the same unique ID to each PBX.

  • When you go to use the new Switchvox peering feature, it tries to input each servers unique server ID into the database on each PBX.  Since they are the same you will receive a DB error.

The best way to resolve this will be:

  1. To create a new backup and download to local workstation,

  2. Reinstall software (this will generate a new unique ID),0

  3. Restore the backup file (but make sure 'Overwrite Server UUID' is set to 'No. This will make sure the server keeps its newly generated UUID and not the one from the backup file.
