When do queue announcements play?

In total the queue has 6 messages that can be played as queue announcements.

 

They are in 2 groups:

  1. Position in queue

    1. The only sound assocatied with this is 'You are Next'

    2. Estimated hold time sounds will NOT be played if you are next.

  2. Estimated Hold time

    1. The remaining five sounds belong to this group and are played in succession

    2. The sounds 'Hold Time' and 'Minutes' are only played if calls have been answered from this queue and an accurate estimated hold time can be calculated by the PBX

    3. These sounds are ONLY played if you are NOT next in line.

 

Some people would like to insert Sales or Product information into these slots which is a misunderstanding of their role.  To best include promotional or informational sounds into your queue experience consider adding them as a part of your Music on Hold group used for the queue.
