Switchvox - How to give non-Admins permission to record calls

  1. Permissions to record calls can be given under the Setup Tab, Extensions, Permissions.

  2. Create Extension Permission Mapping.  Choose what extensions can have the permissions and what extensions are affected by the permissions.

A non-administrator with permissions given under Setup > Extensions > Permissions can record a current call through their extension's Switchboard web interface.

  1. Log into the web portal of the extension with permissions and open Switchboard.

  2. When another extension is on a call, a small red circle shows next to the extension in their phonebook

  3. Push that red button to begin recording.

  4. When the recording or call is done, the recording will show up in your mailbox.

Another option:

  1. Go to Setup > Admins > Manage

  2. Create Admin

  3. From here you can give permissions as None, Read Only, or Read/Write

  4. Pros:  Can create call recordings over periods of time or groups.

  5. Cons:  Admin permissions affect the entire section and may be more permission than you want to give.
