Remote phone using same subnet as local network

When configuring Digium phones at external locations you may run into a problem where an external network uses the same IP scheme as the internal network where the Switchvox is located (ex 192.169.x.x). If this is the case, the phone will attempt to contact the internal IP address of the Switchvox and registration will fail. From the phone you can follow the below steps to resolve:

  1. Select the softkeys More>Info

  2. Select the primary Line key. This will display the address at which the phone is attempting to access the Switchvox.

  3. Select the softkeys More>More>Menu

  4. Select Preferences

  5. Choose Select Network

  6. Select All Networks(0.0.0.0/0)

This should cause the phone to use the genericAll Networksphone network rule, making the phone attempt to register to the external IP address of the Switchvox.
