Switchvox - Why are the channels in my FXS channel group greyed out and unselectable?

  1. First, navigate to Server-Telephony Cards.

  2. Now delete the analog card from the system. This will drop any current calls on the server.

  3. After the card is deleted, choose the Scan for New Devices button.

  4. Once the scan is complete, navigate to Setup-Channel Groups and choose the Modify button for the FXS channel group that is having the issue. If you still cannot select any channels, continue to step 5.

  5. Power off the Switchvox and unplug the servers power cord from the A/C outlet.

  6. Remove the access cover on the Switchvox. 

  7. Remove the Power Molex cable, then remove the card from the server.

  8. Remove the FXS module(s) and then re-install them.

  9. Re-install the card.

  10. Plug in the Power Molex cable to the card. Make sure all connections are seated properly.

  11. Re-install the access cover.

  12. Plug the power cord back into the A/C outlet.

  13. Power on the unit.

  14. Navigate to Server-Telephony Cards, then delete the existing analog card and choose Scan for New Devices. The card will appear on the list after the scan is complete.

  15. Go to Setup-Channel Groups and check the FXS channel group. You should be able to select the channels and then save the channel group settings. This will also drop any current calls on the server.

  16. If you still cannot select any channels, repeat steps 5-15. At step 9, install the card in a different PCI or PCI-Express slot.
