Switchvox - Why Do I Get the Error: You Are Not Permitted to Dial This Number when trying to dial an outgoing number?
First, check the Error Logs (go to Server > Error Logs) to see if there is an error message such as: Call to [number] doesn't match any outgoing call rules.
Verify there is an Outgoing Call Rule that allows the number being dialed (for example, a 10-digit number or a 7-digit number, or an internal number).
Check the extension and verify that the extension has permission to use that Call Rule. Go to Setup > Extensions:Manage > click on yellow pencil for the extension number > Outgoing Call Rules. Is the relevant Call Rule listed with a green checkmark? If so, the extension has permission to use the call rule.
If the call is going out through an IVR using the action: Send to External Number, verify that the IVR Action has the Outgoing Call Rule allowed in the list of outgoing call rules within the IVR Menu. Go to Tools > IVR Editor > select IVR Menu > View > Modify Actions > Send to External Number > Outgoing call rules for this number. Is there an outgoing call rule listed? If not, add the call rule.
If the Outgoing Call Rule is working and there is still a problem dialing outgoing calls, change the digit map. Go to Setup > Extensions:Manage > click on yellow pencil for the extension number > Phone Settings > Advanced Phone Options > Override Dial Plan = Yes and enter the Universal Dial Plan in the Dial Plan field: x.T|*xx.T
Save SIP Extension
Reboot phone.
Place test call and see if it will dial out now.
