Switchvox - Why Do I Have Multiple Calls Logged for Misdialed Calls in Call Reports and Call Logs?

This is an issue under 6.x versions of Switchvox for Polycom Phones on firmware 3.3.X. This issue causes Polycom phones to send out numerous INVITES on calls that do not match the Outgoing Call Rules (such as misdialed calls).
 

  1. First, check this setting on the Switchvox server:

Go to Setup > Phone Feature Packs > Alternate Host Default Option
If Alternate Host is not set, use the PBX's external IP/hostname = Yes, change the setting to No.

  1. Next, go to Server > Phone Networks > modify the appropriate Phone Network. Under Alternate Host > Host Address Hostname or IP Address: delete the Alternate Host information. Save Phone Network.

  2. Reboot all Polycom phones.

 

Note: You should never enter the same IP address as the Primary Host (PBX), or a hostname that resolves to the same IP address as the Primary Host (PBX), in the Alternate Host field in your Phone Networks
