Switchvox - Why is internal CID showing up as the contact name from the external contact list I uploaded?
If you upload an external contact list (under tools > contacts) that has a contact with the same extension number as an internal extension, but a different name, the caller ID may show as the external name on internal, extension to extension calls.
To fix this simply add the extension to the phonebook of the extension you are calling TO with the steps found HERE.
For example:
You have internal SIP extension 100 with the name John Doe.
You upload an external contact list which also has the extension number 100, but the name Nursing Department.
If x100 calls x200 and x200 does not have x100 in it's phonebook, the caller ID will show as Nursing Department.
To get it to show John Doe on x200, follow step 1 above on x200.
