Switchvox - How to enable voicemail forwarding to send to a group of extension
The best way to accomplish this task would be to create one extension that has voicemail (can either by SIP or virtual extension). Then enable voicemail forwarding on that extension to forward to X number of extensions. The exact steps on how to do this are below:
On /admin > Setup > Manage > Create Extension > Virtual Extension
Give the virtual extension an extension number, first name, numeric password and make sure to disable 'Force change of password on next login'.
Go to the Permissions tab > Use Voicemail Features > and make sure 'Enable Automatic Forwarding' then save the extension.
Once the extension is created, login as that user by clicking on the 'door' icon next to the newly created extension.
Once logged in, go to Voicemail / Fax > Voicemail Options > Forwarding tab > set 'enable voicemail forwarding' to 'yes'. If you would like, you can delete the voicemail that was left for this extension automatically after it has been forwarded by enabling 'delete on forward'.
Make sure 'forwarding type' is set to 'send to all'.
Under Forwarding Destinations, select 'Group' > then click on the magnifying glass button to pull up the list of your groups, select the desired group then save the forwarding options.
That should do it, now all the receptionist needs to do is call the virtual extension number, leave a voicemail for it then it will automatically forward that voicemail to the group of extension.
