Switchvox - What Phones Can Be Used As Additional Phones Off The Primary Extension In Switchvox?

Starting in Switchvox software version 6.6, additional phones are created to allow a user to have multiple phones off the primary extension to allow working from other locations or mobile. These extensions do not use up another extension license on the system since they are tied to the primary extension, however they do require a new extension number to be used for routing purposes. The only type of phones that can be used as additional phones are as follows: 

• Sangoma/Digium D series desk phones

• Switchvox mobile softphone

• Sangoma Connect mobile softphone

• Switchvox desktop softphone

If you are using a third party phone, such as a Polycom phone, or a Sangoma wireless DECT phone, these phones cannot be setup as an additional phone. However, if you have one of these phones setup as the primary extension you can still use any of the phones listed above as additional phones off of that primary extension.
